In una delle scene più drammatiche dell’adattamento della regista Greta Gerwig del film “Piccole Donne”, (entrambi da Oscar, n.d.r.), il personaggio di Josephine afferma: “Le donne hanno una mente e un’anima, e non soltanto un cuore. Sono ambiziose e di talento, non sono solo belle. Sono così stanca di sentire che l’amore e la famiglia sono le uniche cose per cui è fatta una donna!”.
Il 70° Festival della musica italiana di Sanremo è alle porte. Il festival è uno degli eventi più seguiti e amati, e non tanto, o non solo, per la musica. Potremmo definire il teatro Ariston come il palco di un’Italia in mostra, si tratta di un'intera società che va in scena.
L’attore dello spettacolo sarà Amadeus, nuovo direttore artistico e conduttore, contornato da 9 vallette (Mara Venier, Rula Jebreal, Antonella Clerici, Diletta Leotta, Emma D’Aquino, Laura Chimenti, Francesca Sofia Novello, Sabrina Salerno e Alketa Vejsiu).
Citerò alcune delle presentazioni così come sono state fatte alla conferenza stampa ufficiale:
“Ovviamente sono tutte molto belle;
Francesca Sofia Novello: ragazza bellissima, fidanzata di Valentino Rossi, scelta da me per la bellezza e la grande capacità di stare vicino a un grande uomo stando un passo indietro;
Laura Chimenti: uno dei volti storici e più belli del TG1 e insieme a Emma d’Aquino “femmena spettaculare”;
Antonella clerici: grandissima amica;
Diletta Leotta: bellissima ragazza e molto simpatica, perfetto averla per dimostrare che non è solo una ragazza che si può occupare di sport;
Emma d’Aquino anche lei donna bellissima;
Sabrina Salerno: icona sexy degli anni 90 adesso splendida donna di 50 anni, una donna bellissima, affascinante e legata alla musica, icona sexy tanti anni fa, ma ancora una bellissima donna;

Io in quanto uomo mi dissocio.
Ma non lo faccio come suggerisce Fiorello, con un’ironia di dubbio gusto e una simbologia e un linguaggio violenti, invocando la pena di morte per Amadeus; ché lui è solo l’espressione dell’italiano medio e del preciso intento politico di continuare a rappresentare, in prima serata, quando la famiglia tradizionale si siede sul divano, una certa realtà e non un’altra. Poi è perfettamente normale e accettabile che, sempre in prima serata, abbia voce e spazio un inneggiatore al femminicidio e all’oggettivazione del corpo femminile (per maggiori info richiamiamo all'articolo http://beyondwtsell.home.blog/2019/07/20/example-post/ ), perché tanto come ci ricorda Matteo Salvini questi comportamenti non sono di per sé riprovevoli. Non è decoroso farli vedere in tv, è meglio farli ognuno a casa propria, nel privato. E infatti la violenza di genere si consuma prevalentemente nel contesto domestico e familiare. La violenza simbolica è quella che passa bene in tv.
Io in quanto uomo femminista mi dissocio.
E tutti gli uomini femministi dovrebbero farlo: rifiutare una cultura patriarcale egemonica, costruita su ruoli e immagini pervasivi e limitanti, significa ridurre le possibilità di esistenza e felicità di donne e uomini, in egual misura. In egual misura, invece, dovremmo impegnarci per costruire un mondo fatto di pari. In breve, lottare per la parità di genere.

Il suo contributo è importante per due motivi:
dimostra che anche chi è nella posizione più privilegiata può comprendere discriminazioni che non potrà subire direttamente, ma che lo colpiscono indirettamente;
utilizza il suo privilegio in favore di chi non lo ha, creando spazi e dando voce a chi è stato escluso, silenziato o umiliato.
Ogni privilegio può essere utilizzato per preservare se stessi, in modo egoistico ed egocentrico, oppure per aiutare gli altri, in modo altruistico. Il primo passo è ascoltare ciò che hanno da dire le persone che non hanno quel privilegio e credere loro. Se le donne dicono che il fischio per strada è offensivo, crediamole, perché è la loro esperienza. Se la comunità nera spiega il valore discriminatorio della blackface, noi bianchi ascoltiamo e impariamo. Se la comunità trans richiede alle università di prevedere e attivare le carriere alias, comprendiamo questo bisogno e battiamoci con loro. Ognuno di noi si è trovato, si trova o si troverà in una condizione di vulnerabilità. Se riuscissimo a sviluppare empatia, potremmo cooperare tutte e tutti per ridurre l’impatto che le vulnerabilità hanno sulle nostre vite. Tutte le vulnerabilità, anche quelle intrinseche alla natura umana, come la vecchiaia o la minore prestanza fisica durante il raffreddore. Sono le alleanze che generano i cambiamenti sociali radicali. È di alleanze che c’è bisogno e per questo, chiunque si senta pronto ha il potere e il dovere di cominciare a farlo subito. The 70th Sanremo Italian Music Festival is upcoming. The festival is one of the most popular and loved events, and not only for the music. We could define the Ariston theater as the stage of an Italy on display; it is an entire society that goes on stage.

As a man, I disagree.
But I don't do it as Fiorello suggests, with an irony of doubtful taste and violent symbolism and language, invoking the death penalty for Amadeus; because he is only the expression of the average Italian and the precise political intent to continue to represent, in primetime, when the traditional family sits on the sofa, a certain reality and not another. Then it is perfectly normal and acceptable that, always in primetime, a praise for feminicide and the objectification of the female body ( for more info check the previous article http://beyondwtsell.home.blog/2019/07/20/example-post/) has voice and space, because as much as Matteo Salvini reminds us, these behaviors are not in themselves reprehensible. It is not decent to show them on TV, it is better to have them at home, in the private. In fact, gender-based violence is mainly consumed in the domestic and family context. Symbolic violence is what passes well on TV.
As a feminist man I disagree.
And all feminist men should do it: rejecting a hegemonic patriarchal culture, built on pervasive and limiting roles and images, means reducing the possibility of existence and happiness of women and men, in equal measure. In equal measure, on the contrary, we should strive to build a world made of equals. In short, fight for gender equality.

His contribution is important for two reasons:
• shows that even those in the most privileged position can understand discrimination that they will not be able to suffer directly, but that affect them indirectly;
• uses his privilege in favour of those who do not have it, creating spaces and giving voice to those who have been excluded, silenced or humiliated.
Every privilege can be used to preserve oneself, in a selfish and egocentric way, or to help others, in an altruistic way. The first step is to listen to what people who don't have that privilege have to say and believe them. If women say that the whistle on the street is offensive, let's believe it, because it is their experience. If the black community explains the discriminatory value of the blackface, we white ones should listen and learn. If the trans community asks to universities to predict and activate alias careers, we should understand this need and fight with them.
Each of us has found, is or will be in a vulnerable condition. If we could develop empathy, we could all cooperate to reduce the impact that vulnerabilities have on our lives. All vulnerabilities, even those intrinsic to human nature, such as old age or less physical performance during a cold.
It is the alliances that generate radical social changes. Alliances are needed and for this reason anyone who feels ready has the power and duty to start doing it immediately.
